Must Use Firefox Addons for Webmasters

Webmasters not only find good SEO tools on the internet and websites, but there are also many browser options available for the internet gurus and webmasters. Not sure about what all Internet Explorer gives for webmasters’ ease for SEO, but Mozilla Firefox has been providing webmasters with some cool addons which are always helpful for webmasters and Internet users.

Here are a few that i would suggest other webmasters to use, and which i use in firefox while browsing -
1. SeoQuake - For webmasters who are in need of better optimization and promotion of their websites, for checking rankings and cache dates for their own and competitors websites.
SEOQuake AddonSeoquake is a Mozilla Firefox extension aimed primarily at helping web masters who deal with search engine optimization and internet promotion of web sites. Seoquake allows to obtain and investigate many important SEO parameters of the internet project under study on the fly, save them for future work, compare them with the results, obtained for other, competitive, projects.

This plugin works with Firefox: 2.0 – 3.0a9.
SeoQuake submits a query to search engine every time when it needs to obtain a value for a new parameter (that is not in a cache yet), defined by this search engine. Frequent use of big amount of the parameters may lead to the ban of user’s IP address from search engine. In this case, you will need to delete cookies or change proxy server.

SearchStatus addon2. SearchStatus - This addon shows Google Pagerank, Alexa rank, Compete rank in any position in the browser.. Along with that other info such as fast keyword density analyser, keyword/nofollow highlighting, backward/related links, no. of pages indexed, whois info, meta tag information, domain history from archive.org and some more info is also included in this Addon.
The license of this internet software is Freeware, you can free download and free use this Internet software, it works with Firefox: 1.0 – 3.0a7 and it has got all positive reviews from webmasters as it is really helpful for webmasters dealing with SEO works.

Try that addon, you will surely like it and find it helpful..

There are many other tools. I will put on a small contest. The one to comment first with the 3 best firefox addons with small reviews about them will win $5..
There are great addons to be shared yet. So it’s easy to share and review them here!

Best Blog Tips List for Traffic and Marketing

I have been reading a few good blogs since the past couple of days and found a few great resources sharing tips for marketing and getting more traffic to your blog. Traffic is always an important factor for a blogger, as the amount of traffic mainly determines the quality of the blog. As you can see JohnChow.com, a penalized blog and not ranking for his own name “john chow” in google, is still earning good and is well known everywhere, is because of the traffic he gets. Check alexa stats for johnchow.com! And am also inspired by my brother Amit’s blog work and the ways by which he is gaining high amount of traffic these days!

I am not just that Mad to copy all the tips and share them here, so i would just like to share those resources(which would be just like indirect link baiting to them ;)) - Vote it if you like it.

1. 21 Tactics to Increase Blog Traffic by Rand Fishkin.
A small quote from Rand’s post start up -

A considerable portion of my consulting time has recently revolved around the optmization of corporate blogs (or the addition of blogs to revamped sites). As usual, I find a pattern emerging in the strategies that need attention and the pitfalls that must be avoided. So, rather than charging $400 an hour to give advice on the subject, I thought it would be valuable to share many of the most common pieces of advice here on the blog (business part of Rand fights with open source Rand, but loses, as usual)

He made some good points about choosing of the best blog software, analytics, guest bloggers, intelligence while posting, commenting etc. A nice read!

2. 21 Surefire Tips for a Successful Blog Launch - By Jeff Behrendt.

Witnessing the launch of a blog as successful as Performancing’s first two weeks might lead you to think that launching a successful blog is easy… well, it’s NOT.
The 21 points included in this checklist will cover the basics of what you need to do during those all-important first two weeks of your blog’s life. While there are no guarantees in the blogosphere, if you follow these launching tips closely, your chances of success are greatly improved.

A few points that are said here relate to how a blog has to be launched to make it popular instantly, includes things like RSS subscriptions, social bookmarking, self promotion, networking in blogs, building of links and link baiting techniques!
A surely great read for a new blogger to launch a new blog in the blogosphere.

4. 8 Reasons Why Lists are Good for Getting Traffic to your Blog by Problogger Darren Rowse.
A small quote from the post -

I’ve been reminded by this again today by seeing just how many people are linking up to Piaras Kelly’s list of Tips on writing content for your blog. I must have seen 10 or 15 people link to it in the last few hours (including me). Even though I don’t agree with all of it there is something about a list that bloggers and blog readers love.

He mentioned a few good points such as Lists are Scannable, lists look neat, they can be comprehensive etc. It is one of the good ways to attract visitors!

5. 10 Tips for More Blog Traffic by Markus Merz from Performancing.

Right now there are numbers around that every day 70,000 new blogs are created. How can somebody develop a strategy to build up traffic or improve the traffic stream coming to his website? “Produce a lot of fresh content” is one of the standard answers. It is true! But don’t believe that writing 15 articles a day gains incredible more inbound traffic than just one or two. And the Blogger Burnout will be coming to you pretty soon!
“My cooking recipe for fast SEO results”. The approach is that you can use the support of modern blogging technology as a side kick to gain inbound traffic and fast search engine attention:

There are 10 basic and good tips for bloggers which can help them get some good traffic to your blog!

FaceBook going to become better? Overtaking LinkedIn?

First lets start off with a small descriptions about both the networking sites!

FacebookFacebook, is a social networking website in which people interact with each other and increase their friendly network and communicate and share their information in it. It is running since February 4, 2004. People are allowed to chat, send messages offline and share many other things like their image albums etc. But it was never like a professional networking site as people were there for friendship, dating etc. Currently it has 34 million active members worldwide.

LinkedInLinkedIn, on the other hand is a professional networking website which features large company groups, members of which are networking with each other and get interacted for business deals and talks. This is also a large info base company where specific webmasters(mostly) link to each other and grow their network. It has 15 million registered users currently. The main purpose of the site is to allow registered users to maintain a list of contact details of people they know and trust in business. These are better known as Connections.

A few days back, techcrunch post on facebook showed that facebook is making their applications which direct towards plans similar to LinkedIn which makes business networking prominent in facebook too.

Accd. to techcrunch -

And now Facebook is quietly making changes to their data structure to allow for the concept of “networking.” Currently on Facebook, users can say they are looking for friendship, dating, a relationship, random play or “whatever I can get.” But networking was recently added as a desired relationship type to the API

Do you really think facebook will be improving to become a good business networking site like LinkedIn?

Will facebook overtake linkedin in business networking?
