FaceBook going to become better? Overtaking LinkedIn?

First lets start off with a small descriptions about both the networking sites!

Facebook, is a social networking website in which people interact with each other and increase their friendly network and communicate and share their information in it. It is running since February 4, 2004. People are allowed to chat, send messages offline and share many other things like their image albums etc. But it was never like a professional networking site as people were there for friendship, dating etc. Currently it has 34 million active members worldwide.

LinkedIn, on the other hand is a professional networking website which features large company groups, members of which are networking with each other and get interacted for business deals and talks. This is also a large info base company where specific webmasters(mostly) link to each other and grow their network. It has 15 million registered users currently. The main purpose of the site is to allow registered users to maintain a list of contact details of people they know and trust in business. These are better known as Connections.

A few days back, techcrunch post on facebook showed that facebook is making their applications which direct towards plans similar to LinkedIn which makes business networking prominent in facebook too.

And now Facebook is quietly making changes to their data structure to allow for the concept of “networking.” Currently on Facebook, users can say they are looking for friendship, dating, a relationship, random play or “whatever I can get.” But networking was recently added as a desired relationship type to the API
